Lightning protection testing is legally mandatory under Section 5 of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. This legislation requires that all lightning protection systems be maintained and tested at regular intervals not exceeding 12 months.
However, we recommend test and inspections are carried out every 11 months so that testing over time will build up a good ground condition report that show varies with the soil moisture.
